Abbreviations

WS.       Wrong Side

RS.        Right Side

dc.         Double Crochet

htr.        Half Treble Crochet

tr.          Treble Crochet

rpt.        Repeat

ss.         Slip Stitch


DNT. Do Not Turn.


Dec.  Leaving the last loop of each stitch on hook,

         yrh and draw through all loops.


Size to fit approx:  0-3 month Baby


Materials

50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton 4ply in cream (1692) Main Colour

50 grams of Patons 100% Cotton 4ply in contrast colour

4.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks


TENSION - 6htr and 4 rows of htr measures approx 1 inch square

Boots - With 4.00mm hook and main colour yarn, make 12ch, (RS) 3htr into 4th ch from hook,1htr into each of next 7ch, 8htr into last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch,

Work 1htr into each of next 7ch, 4htr into last ch, ss to top of the 3ch on beginning of row. DNT. (29htr + 3ch)


Next Round - 2ch, work 2htr into each of next 3htr, 1htr into each of next 9htr, 2htr into

each of next 6htr, 1htr into each of next 9htr, 2htr into each of last 2htr, 1htr into base of

2ch, ss to top of 2ch. DNT. (41htr + 2ch).


Next Round - 2ch, miss first htr, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into base of 2ch, ss to top

of 2ch. DNT. (41htr + 2ch).


Next Round - Working into back loop of stitch only, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each htr to end, ss to first dc. Turn (42dc)


Next Round - Working through both loops make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each

dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn (42dc). Rpt last row once. Fasten off.


Instep - With WS facing and counting from were you fastened off, miss 11dc, rejoin yarn

to next dc, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 19dc,  turn leaving 11dc un-worked. (20dc)


Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc,

(see abbrev above) 9 times, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (11dc)


Next Row - (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc in base of 1ch, (dec 1dc over next 2dc) 5 times. Turn.

(6dc)


Next Row - (Dec Row) Insert hook and pull up loop in each dc, yrh, pull through 7 loops

on hook to close, 1ch. Turn. Fasten off.


Top - With 4.00mm hook, main colour and WS facing rejoin yarn to back seam, make

1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each of next 10dc, 8dc evenly across top of

instep, work 1dc into each of next 11dc, ss to first dc. Turn. (30dc)


Next Row - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Rpt last row eight more times. Fasten off.


Join in contrast colour yarn and working through back loop of st only, rpt last row once.

Turn. Working through both loops of st work last row once. Turn.


Next Row - Make 1ch, (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss 2dc, (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into

next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss last 2dc, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


With 5.00mm hook, contrast colour yarn and sole of bootie facing towards you, rejoin yarn

to back seam, work one row of dc into loose loops around boot. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, turn down top from loose loops onto front of bootie.


Double Sided Bib - (Back) # # With 5.00mm hook and main colour yarn make 38ch,

change to 4.00mm hook 1htr into 3rd ch from hook 1htr into each ch to end. Turn.

(36htr + 2ch)


Next Row - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. # # Rpt last row 18

more times or until work measures approx 5.5 inches from beginning. Turn


Back Split


First Side - 2ch, 1htr into each of next 17htr, turn leaving 18htr and 2ch un-worked.

(17htr + 2ch)


Next Row - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. Rpt last row 8 more times, making 30 rows in all from beginning. Fasten off.


Second Side - Return to un-worked htr were you split for first side, miss 1htr, rejoin yarn

to next htr.


Next Row - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. (17htr + 2ch) Rpt last row until same as first side. Fasten off.


Bib Front - Rpt from # # to # # on back, rpt last row 22 more times or until work measures approx 6.5 inches from beginning. Turn.


Shape Neck


First Side - 2ch, 1htr into each of next 11htr, turn leaving 24htr and 2ch un-worked.

(11htr + 2ch)


Row 1 - 2ch, dec 1htr over next 2htr, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn. (10htr + 2ch)


Row 2 - 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn.


Rpt Row 1 & 2 once. Turn. Rpt Row 2. Fasten off. (9htr + 2ch)


Second Side - Return to un-worked htr where you split for first side of neck, miss 13htr, rejoin yarn to next htr, work 2ch, 1htr into each htr to end, 1htr into top of 2ch. Turn.


Complete second side same as first reversing shaping. Fasten off.


Edging - Using 5.00mm hook and main colour yarn ss shoulder seams together.

(You can use a needle and yarn to sew if you wish).


Back Opening and Neck Edging - With RS facing and 4.00mm hook, join main colour

yarn to base of back opening on right hand side, make 1ch, working into row ends, work 15dc evenly up first side of back opening to neck edge, 3dc into corner, work 18dc evenly around and down first side of front neck edge, 1dc into each of next 13htr, work 18dc

evenly up and around second side of front edge to next corner, 3dc into corner, 15dc

evenly into row ends down second side of back opening. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, 1dc into each dc all around neck to

end, working 3dc into both corners. Fasten off.


With 4.00mm hook, rejoin contrast colour yarn to centre dc on corners and work 30ch on each for ties. Fasten off.


Bib Border - With RS of work facing and 4.00mm hook, join main colour yarn to centre

st on cast on edge of back, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to corner, 3dc into corner, work 90dc evenly into row ends along back and front of bib to next corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along cast on edge of front of bib to next corner, 3dc into corner, work 90dc evenly into row ends along front and back of bib to next corner, work 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of remaining ch across to centre back, ss to first dc. Turn.


Next Row - Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc around bib to end, working

3dc into all four corners, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off.


Next Row - Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss 2dc, (1dc, 3tr, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss last 2dc, ss to first dc. Fasten off.


Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn.
