GAUGE - 4hdc and 4 rows of hdc measures approx 1” Square

Clutch Bag - With 5.00mm hook ch39, (RS) 1hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1hdc in each
ch to end. Turn (37hdc + ch2)

Next Row - ch2, 1hdc in each hdc to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn. Rpt last row 28
more times, making 30 rows in all. Turn.

Front Flap - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each hdc to end. Turn. (38sc)

Next Row - ch3, * (2dc, ch2, 1sc) in next sc, skip 3sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
(10, groups)

Pattern Row - ch3, * (2dc, ch2, 1sc) in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 11 more times making 13 Pattern Rows in all. Fasten off.

Bag Edging and Sides - Working down the first side of bag (see pic below) in row ends and starting with ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next row end, 2sc in next row end,
* 1sc in next row end, 2sc in next row end, * rpt from * to * to last row end, 1sc in last row
end (44sc), 3sc in corner, working along starting ch, work 1sc in each of next 36ch to
corner, 3sc in corner, working up the second side of bag and in row ends, work 2sc in
next row end, rpt from * to * to base of flap, (44sc). Turn.

Side Panels - # With RS facing and working in back loop of stitch only, ch1, 1sc in base
of ch1, 1sc in each of next 19sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (see abbrev above) 1sc in each
of next 2sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of next 20sc. Turn. (44sc)

Next Row - Working through both loops from now on, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in
each of next 19sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (twice), 1sc in each of next 20sc. Turn. (42sc)

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 19sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc
in each of next 20sc. Turn. (41sc)

Next Row - Fold cover in half length ways so that WS is facing, join sides together as follows:

ch1, using centre loops of sc, sl st both sides of each sc together to close. Fasten off. #

Starting on short side on opposite corner (see pic below) with RS facing, Rpt from # to
# the same as the first side. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off ends, attach button to centre and use gaps in stitches as buttonhole, attach ribbon rosebud to flap.
