Materials
200 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in Main Colour
 60 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in EACH of the 2 Contrast Colours
6.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 4tr and 2 rows of tr measures approx 1 Inch

Rug - With 6.00mm hook and main colour yarn make 101ch, change to 5.00mm hook,
1tr into 4th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, 1tr into next ch, 3ch, work 3tr around the post of the
last tr made, miss 2ch, 1tr into each of next 4ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4ch, miss 2ch, 1tr
into each of last 2ch. Turn. (11, post 3tr groups)

Row 1 -  3ch, 1tr into next tr, 2ch, * miss 3tr, 1dc into top of 3ch on post 3tr group, 2ch,
1tr into each of next 4tr, 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last post 3tr group, tr and 3ch to turn with, miss 3tr, 1dc into top of 3ch, 2ch, 1tr into tr, 1tr into top of 3ch for turning. Turn.

Row 2 -  3ch, 1tr into next tr, * miss 2ch, 1tr into next dc, 3ch, work 3tr around the post of
the last tr made, miss 2ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, dc, 2ch, tr
and 3ch to turn with, miss 2ch, 1tr into dc, 3ch, work 3tr around post of last tr made, miss 2ch, 1tr into tr, 1tr into top of 3ch for turning. Turn.

The last 2 rows form the pattern, rpt both rows in colour sequence as follows:-

Once each in main colour
Three times each in contrast colour 1
Three times each in main colour
Three times each in contrast colour 2
Three times each in main colour
Three times each in contrast colour 1
Three times each in main colour
Three times each in contrast colour 2
Three times each in main colour. Turn.

You should have 48 rows worked in all from beginning.

Rpt Pattern Row 1 once. Turn.

Edging - With RS facing make 1ch, work a slip stitch into base of the 1ch, slip stitch into next tr, * work 2 slip stitches into next 2ch space, slip stitch into dc, 2 slip stitches into 2ch space, slip stitch into next 4tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, dc, 2ch space, tr and 3ch
to turn, 2 slip stitches into 2ch space, slip stitch into dc, 2 slip stitches into 2ch space, slip stitch into the last tr, 3 slip stitches into top of 3ch for turning, working into row ends down first side of rug, work 2 slip stitches into each row end to corner, 3 slip stitches into corner, working along cast on edge work a slip stitch into next tr, rpt from * to * to last 2ch space,
dc, 2ch space and 2tr, 2 slip stitches into 2ch space, slip stitch into dc, 2 slip stitches into 2ch space, slip stitch into next tr, 3 slip stitches into last tr, working into row ends up second side of rug, work 2 slip stitches into each row end to corner, 1 slip stitch into corner, slip stitch to first slip stitch on beginning of row. Turn.

Second Row - Working into front loop of each slip stitch make 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each slip stitch around all four sides of rug, working 3dc into corners, 1dc into
base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Third Row - Working through both loops of stitch from now, join in contrast colour 2, make 3ch, work 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each dc  around all four sides of rug, working 3tr into corners, 1tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Fourth Row - 3ch, * 1trf into next tr, 1trb into next tr * (see abbrev for trf & trb) rpt from
* to * around all four sides of rug, working 3tr into corners, 1tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Fifth Row - Join in main colour, 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr around four
sides to end, working 3dc into corners, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Sixth Row - Rpt Fifth Row. Turn. Fasten off.

Seventh-Eighth Row - Join in contrast colour 1 and rpt Fifth Row. Fasten off.

Ninth Row - Join in main colour, rpt Fifth Row. DNT.

With RS facing and working left to right work one row of crab stitch (see abbrev) around all four sides of rug, working 3 stitches into each corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn.
