10.5oz Light Worsted #3

H (5.00mm) & F (4.00mm) crochet hooks

GAUGE - 3 Rows & 10st to Approximately 2”

With H (5.00mm) hook, ch146, change to F (4.00mm) hook, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (143dc + ch3)

1st Row - ch5, skip 1dc, * 1sc in next dc, ch3, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, ch3, skip 2dc * rpt from * to * to last 5dc and ch3, ch3 skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, ch3, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

2nd Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip ch3, 5dc in sc, skip ch3, 1sc in dc, * rpt from * to * to end, finishing with 1sc in 3rd of ch5. Turn. (24, 5dc groups)

3rd Row - ch5, * 1sc in centre dc of 5dc, ch3, 1dc in sc, ch3, * rpt from * to * to last 5dc group and sc, 1sc in centre dc of 5dc, 1dc in sc. Turn.

4th Row - ch3, * 2dc in ch3 space, 1dc in sc, 2dc in ch3 space, 1dc in dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, ch3 space, sc and ch5, 2dc in ch3 space, 1dc in sc, 1dc in ch5 space, 1dc in 3rd of same ch5. Turn. Fasten off.

Rpt the last 4 rows until work measures 32” or 20 complete patterns (all 4 rows) have been worked ending on a 4th row.

Blanket Edging - Re-join yarn with sl st to a corner, with RS facing and working on right hand side of blanket, ch3, work 2dc in each row end to next corner. Fasten off. Rpt the last row on left hand side of blanket. Fasten off.

With WS facing and starting at top of blanket were you worked the last row of pattern, rejoin yarn and work ch5, * skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, ch3, skip 2dc, 1dc in next dc, ch3, * rpt from * to * around all 4 sides of blanket, sl st to 3rd of ch3. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, 3dc in base of ch, skip ch3 space, 1sc in dc, continue with 2nd Row from main part of blanket, all around sides to end, working 3dc in each corner, work 2dc in base of ch from beginning of row, sl st to 3rd of ch3. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends. Decorate with ribbon and rosebuds if preferred.
