Materials

155 grams of King Cole big value baby DK

5.5oz of Worsted Weight #3

5.00mm & 4.50mm crochet hook

GAUGE - 1.2 groups and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.50mm hook

With 5.00mm hook ch84, change to 4.50mm hook, 3dc, in 5th ch from hook, * skip 3ch, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next ch,* rpt from * to * to last 3ch, skip next 2ch, 1sc in last ch. Turn.

2nd Row - ch4, skip ch3, 3dc in the 4th ch from hook, * skip 3dc, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to last group, skip 3dc, 1sc in ch3 space. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row until 34 rows have been worked or work measures approx 17 Inches from beginning. Turn.

Next Row - ch3, 2dc in base of ch3, * skip 3dc, sl st in ch3 space, 3dc in sc, * rpt from * to * to last group, skip 3dc, sl st in top of ch3. Turn.

Border - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 1sc in each of next 3dc, skip sl st, * rpt from * to * to corner, 3sc in corner, working in row ends, work 59sc evenly down first side of shawl to corner, 3sc in corner, work 59sc evenly along cast on edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, working in row ends work 59sc evenly up second side of shawl to corner, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc around all four sides of shawl to end, working 3sc in corners, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Next Row - ch4, skip ch3, 3dc in the 4th ch from hook, * skip 2sc, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * around all four sides of shawl to last sc, skip last sc, sl st to first of ch4 on beginning of row. Turn.

Pattern Row - ch4, skip ch3, 3dc in the 4th ch from hook, * skip 3dc, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first of ch4 on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn.
