30 grams of Patons 100% Cotton DK in White (2691) or pomegrante (2724)

OR
1.05oz of Worsted Weight #3 100% Cotton
5.50mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 4dc and 3 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 5.00mm hook

Scrubby (Front) - Using 5.50mm hook ch17, change 5.00mm hook, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch
from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (14dc + ch3)

Pattern Row 1 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * dc5tog in next dc, 1sc in each of next 2dc,
* rpt from * to * to last dc and ch3 to turn with, dc5tog in next dc, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.
(5, dc5tog)

Pattern Row 2 - ch3, 1dc in each dc5tog and sc to end. Turn. (14dc + ch3)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 four more times until six dc rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.

Back - Using 5.50mm hook ch17, change 5.00mm hook, (RS) 1dc in 4th ch from hook,
1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (14dc + ch3)

Row 2 - ch1 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn. (15sc)

Row 3 - ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Turn.

Rpt Rows 2 & 3 four more times. DNT.

Joining of Back and Front - Place wrong sides of front and back together, with RS facing and working through both pieces, ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, work 16sc evenly in row ends down first side of scrubby to corner, 3sc in corner, working along cast on edge work 1sc in each ch to corner, 3sc in corner, work 16sc evenly in row ends up next side of scrubby to corner, 3sc in corner, work 1sc in each dc along top of scrubby, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Scrubby Edging - Starting with ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc around all sides, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in ends.

To make the scrubby in two shades, work first 3 rows in color 1 and change to color 2 every 2 rows thereafter, edge with color 2.
