Materials
600 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in white (001)
6.00mm & 5.50mm crochet hooks
TENSION - 2 shells & 4 rows of pattern measures approx 2” square

Shawl - With 6.00mm hook make 150ch, change to 5.50mm hook, (RS) work 1dc into
2nd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, 1 shell (see abbrev) into next ch, miss 1ch, 1dc into
next
ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (37 shell groups)
Pattern Row 1 - 3ch, * 1 vst (see abbrev) into 1ch space of shell, 1tr into dc, *
rpt from
* to * to end. Turn. (37 vst).
Pattern Row 2 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1 shell into vst, 1dc into tr, * rpt
from
* to * to last vst and 3ch, 1 shell into vst, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.
Repeat Pattern Rows 1 & 2 forty more times until eighty three rows have been worked
in all or work measures approx 40 inches from beginning. Turn.
Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into ch space, 1ch,
1dc
into dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
Shawl Edging - With RS facing, work 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each 1ch
space and dc to last dc, 3dc into last dc, working down first side of shawl, * work
1dc into next row end, 2dc into next row end, * rpt from * to * to corner, 3dc into
corner, working
along cast on edge work 1dc into each ch to corner, 3dc into corner, again working
into
row ends, rpt from * to * up second side of shawl to corner, 1dc into base of 1ch,
ss to
first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Next Row - 1ch, 2dc into base of ch, 1dc into each dc around all four sides of shawl
working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Next Row - 3ch, 3tr into base of 3ch, * miss 2dc, (ss, 3ch, 3tr) into next dc, *
rpt from
* to * all around shawl to end, ss to base of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing - Sew in and tie off any loose ends.
