5.50mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks
1 decorative button

GAUGE - 5sc and 6 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.50mm hook

With 5.50mm crochet hook and color 1, ch41, change to 4.50mm hook, (WS) 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (40sc)

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row in color sequence as follows:-

Twice in color 1
# Twice in color 2
Four times in color 1 #

Rpt from # to # 4 more times, (34 rows have been worked from the beginning). Fasten off.

With stripes vertical, fold over bottom edge approx 3 inches.

Edging - With RS facing and using 4.50mm hook, rejoin color 1 to bottom right hand corner of fold over, working through front and back starting ch's to seal edges, ch1, 1sc in next 14ch, 1sc in each of the next 11 ch's to corner, 3sc in corner, work 14sc evenly in row ends to centre of flap, ch5 (loop) skip 2 row ends, work 14sc evenly in row ends to next corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of the next 11sc, work 1sc in each of the remaining 14sc picking up both sides of work to seal edges. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn, attach button to correspond with looped flap.
