Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Finished size approx: 7.5 Inches x 4 Inches

Materials

30 grams of King Cole big value DK in Colour 1

10 grams of King Cole big value DK in Colour 2

5.50mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

1 decorative button

TENSION - 5dc and 6 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.50mm hook

With 5.50mm crochet hook and colour 1, make 41ch, change to 4.50mm hook, (WS) 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (40dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row in colour sequence as follows:-

Twice in colour 1

# Twice in colour 2

Four times in colour 1 #

Rpt from # to # 4 more times, (34 rows have been worked from the beginning). Fasten off.

With stripes vertical, fold over bottom edge approx 3 inches.

Edging - With RS facing and using 4.50mm hook, rejoin colour 1 to bottom right hand corner of fold over, working through front and back starting ch's to seal edges, make 1ch, 1dc into next 14ch, 1dc into each of the next 11 ch's to corner, 3dc into corner, work 14dc evenly into row ends to centre of flap, make 5ch (loop) miss 2 row ends, work 14dc evenly into row ends to next corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of the next 11dc, work 1dc into each of the remaining 14dc picking up both sides of work to seal edges. Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in any loose ends of yarn, attach button to correspond with looped flap.
