GAUGE - 2 vst and 2 rows of vst measures approx 1 in square on a 4.50mm hook

Scarf - With 5.00mm hook and main color yarn, ch24, change to 4.50mm hook, work
1 vst (see abbrev above)  in 6th ch from hook, * skip 2ch’s, 1 vst in next ch * rpt from
* to * to last ch3, skip 2ch’s, 1dc in last ch. Turn. (6 vst)

Next Row - ch3, 1 vst in each vst to end, 1dc in top of ch5. Turn.

Pattern Row - ch3, 1 vst in each vst to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

The last row forms the pattern, rpt Pattern Row twice, making 5 rows in all. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast color, work ch3, 1 vst in each vst to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. Rpt Pattern Row twice. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in main color, ch3, work 1 vst in each vst to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 51 more times until 60 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 25 inches from beginning. You can add more rows here to make a longer scarf

Join in contrast color and work Pattern Row three more times. Fasten off. Join in main
color and work Pattern Row five more times. Turn.

Edging – Using a 4.00mm hook and ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next dc and
ch1 spaces (18sc in all) to ch3 to turn, 3sc in top of ch3, working down first side of scarf, work 2sc in each row end along to corner, 3sc in corner, work 18sc evenly along starting
ch to next corner, 3sc in corner, work 2sc in each row end up second side of scarf along
to corner, 1sc in base of first sc, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Next Row  - ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in next
sc, * ch3, sl st to first of ch3 just made, 1sc in each of next 3sc, * rpt from * to next corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each sc to next corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in next sc,  rpt from * to * to next corner, 1sc in base of ch1, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Hat - With 4.00mm hook and main color yarn, ch6, sl st to first ch to make a ring. ch3, work 12dc in ring, sl st to top of ch3. (12dc + ch3). DNT

Flower Motif – (For Hat and scarf) With 4.00mm hook and contrast color, ch6, sl st to first ch to make a ring, ch3, 1dc in ring, (ch1, 2dc) in ring 5 times, ch1, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. DNT.

Next Row - Using main color yarn, join to first ch1 space, (ch3 1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same ch1 space, * (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. DNT. (6 Petals)

Next Row - Using contrast color yarn, rejoin to top of ch3, work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1,
1sc in next dc, (1sc, ch2 ,1sc) in ch1 space, 1dc in each of next 2dc, sl st between next
2 groups, * 1sc in next 2dc, (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in ch1 space of group, 1sc in each of next
2dc, sl st in space between next 2 groups, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, 1sc in each of last 2dc, sl st in space between last 2 groups, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Make 2 more flowers in opposite colors for scarf.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends on scarf and hat, attach one flower motif to
each end of scarf and one to the hat.
