Materials
50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK Yarn in Main Colour
50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK Yarn in Contrast Colour
4.00mm, 4.50mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION - 2 vst and 2 rows of vst measures approx 1 in square on a 4.50mm hook

Scarf - With 5.00mm hook and main colour yarn, make 24ch, change to 4.50mm hook,
work 1 vst (see abbrev above)  into 6th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, 1 vst into next ch *
rpt from * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (6 vst)

Next Row - 3ch, 1 vst into each vst to end, 1tr into top of 5ch. Turn.

Pattern Row - 3ch, 1 vst into each vst to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

The last row forms the pattern, rpt Pattern Row twice, making 5 rows in all. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast colour, work 3ch, 1 vst into each vst to end, 1tr into top of
3ch. Turn. Rpt Pattern Row twice. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in main colour, 3ch, work 1 vst into each vst to end, 1tr into top of 3ch.
Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 51 more times until 60 rows have been worked in all or work measures approx 25 inches from beginning. You can add more rows here to make a longer scarf if
you wish. Fasten off.

Join in contrast colour and work Pattern Row three more times. Fasten off. Join in main colour and work Pattern Row five more times. Turn.

Edging – Using a 4.00mm hook and make 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of
next tr and 1ch spaces (18dc in all) to 3ch to turn, 3dc into top of 3ch, working down first
side of scarf, work 2dc into each row end along to corner, 3dc into corner, work 18dc
evenly along starting ch to next corner, 3dc into corner, work 2dc into each row end up second side of scarf along to corner, 1dc into base of first dc, ss to first dc. Turn.

Next Row  - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc
into next dc, * 3ch, ss to first of 3ch just made, 1dc into each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to
next corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc to next corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into next dc,  rpt from * to * to next corner, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Hat - With 4.00mm hook and main colour yarn, make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring.
3ch, work 12tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch. (12tr + 3ch). DNT
 
2nd Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch. (25tr + 3ch) DNT
 
3rd Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to
last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss to top of 3ch. (38tr + 3ch). DNT
 
4th Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from
* to * to last 2tr, 1tr in each of last 2tr, ss to top of 3ch. (51tr + 3ch). DNT
 
5th Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next 3tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to
last 3tr, 1tr into each of last 3tr, ss to top of 3ch. (64tr + 3ch). DNT

6th Round - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next 4tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to
last 4tr, 1tr into each of last 4tr, ss to top of 3ch. (77tr + 3ch). Turn.

Next Round - 4ch, 1tr into base of 4ch, * miss 2tr, 1 vst into next tr, * rpt from * to * to
last 2tr, miss last 2tr, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of round. Turn. (26 vst)

Pattern Round - ss to first 1ch space, 4ch, 1tr into same 1ch space, 1vst into each vst to end, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of round. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Round twice more. Turn. Fasten off. Join in contrast colour to first 1ch space and work Pattern Round three more times. Turn. Fasten off. Re-join main colour yarn to
first 1ch space and work Pattern Round three more times. Fasten off.

Flower Motif – (For Hat and scarf) With 4.00mm hook and contrast colour, make 6ch,
ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, 1tr into ring, (1ch, 2tr) into ring 5 times, 1ch, ss to top
of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. DNT.

Next Row - Using main colour yarn, join to first 1ch space, (3ch 1tr, 1ch, 2tr) into same
1ch space, * (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. DNT. (6 Petals)

Next Row - Using contrast colour yarn, rejoin to top of 3ch, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next tr, (1dc, 2ch ,1dc) into 1ch space, 1tr into each of next 2tr, ss between next
2 groups, * 1dc into next 2tr, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 1ch space of group, 1dc into each of next
2tr, ss into space between next 2 groups, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, 1dc into each of last
2tr, ss into space between last 2 groups, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Make 2 more flowers in opposite colours for scarf.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends on scarf and hat, attach one flower motif to
each end of scarf and one to the hat.
