work 1tr into each of next 2tr, yrh hook,

pull through all loops.

tr3tog. Leaving last loop of each tr on hook,

work 1tr into each of next 3tr, yrh hook,

pull through all loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx size: Head circumference 22 inches

Materials

35 grams of Random Double Knitting Yarn in Main Colour

20 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in Contrast Colour

6.00mm crochet hook

TENSION - 4tr and 2 rows of tr's measures approx 1 Inch

Round 1 - (RS) With 6.00mm hook and main colour, make 4ch, ss into 1st ch to form

a ring, 3ch, work 11tr into ring, ss to top 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (11tr + 3ch)

Round 2 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning

of row. Turn. (23tr + 3ch)

Round 3 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt

from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (35tr + 3ch)

Round 4 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each

of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (47tr + 3ch)

Round 5 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each

of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (59tr + 3ch)

Rounds 6-13 - 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. (59tr + 3ch)

First Ear Flap - Counting from where you just fastened off, miss 10tr, re-join main colour yarn to next tr, make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 7tr. Turn. (7tr + 3ch)

Row 2 - (Dec Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, tr2tog over next 2tr (twice) 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (5tr + 3ch)

Row 3 - (Dec Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, tr2tog over next 2tr, 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of

3ch. Turn. (4tr +3ch)

Row 4 - (Dec Row) 3ch, tr3tog over next 3tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. (2tr + 3ch) Fasten off.

Second Ear Flap - With RS facing, return to Round 13, miss next 24tr, join main colour

with a ss into next tr, make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 7tr. (7tr + 3ch)

Rep Rows 2- 4 same as First Ear Flap. Fasten off.

Edging Including Ties - With WS facing join in contrast colour yarn with a ss to first tr

after back seam, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 9tr, work 8dc evenly

into row ends up side of ear flap, make 51ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 48ch, miss 1st, work 8dc evenly into row ends down side of earflap, 1dc into each of next 24tr, work 8dc evenly into row ends up side of ear flap, make 51ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 48ch, miss 1st, work 8dc evenly into row ends down side

of earflap, 1dc into each of next 9tr, 1dc into top of 3ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends. Using Clover Pom-Pom makers, make 1

medium Pom-Pom in contrast colour and 2 small Pom-Poms in main colour, attach

medium pom-pom to crown on hat and 2 small pom-poms to each end of ties.
