ss. Slip Stitch

cl. Cluster Stitch

yrh, insert into next stitch,

pull up loop, (twice), yrh draw through 4 loops,

yrh draw through 2 loops.

extr.

Extended Treble Crochet

yrh, insert hook into next space or stitch,

yrh and pull up loop, (3 loops on hook)

yrh and draw through 1 loop, yrh and draw through 2 loops, yrh and pull through last 2 loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Materials

Small amounts of King Cole big value DK in Colour 1

Small amounts of King Cole big value DK in Colour 2

4.50mm crochet hook

TENSION - N/A

Made without turning throughout -

With colour 1 and 4.50mm hook make 5ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, work 3ch, 15tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (15tr + 3ch)

2nd Round - Join in colour 2 with a ss to top of 3ch, make 3ch, 1cl (see abbrev) into base

of 3ch, * make 1ch, 1cl into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, 1ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Fasten off. (16cl + 3ch)

3rd Row - Join in colour 1 with a ss to a 1ch space, work (3ch, 1extr, 2ch, 2extr) into same space, (makes corner), * work 2tr into each of next three 1ch spaces, (2extr, 2ch, 2extr)

into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * last three 1ch spaces, work 2tr into each of next three 1ch spaces, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (see abbrev for extr)

4th Row - Join in colour 2 with a ss to top of 3ch, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each

tr all around square, working 2dc, 1ch, 2dc into each corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row.

5th Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 2ch, 1dc into back loop of next dc, 2ch, 1dc into front loop of next dc, * rpt from * to * to end working 1dc, 2ch twice into each corner, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off loose ends of yarn.
