Materials

120 grams of Patons 100% cotton DK in pomegranate (2724) Main

60 grams of Patons 100% cotton DK in cream (2692) Contrast

4.50mm crochet hook

TENSION - 4.5dc and 7 rows of dc measure approx 1 Inch

Using 4.50mm hook and main colour, make 65ch loosely, (RS) Work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into next ch, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into each of next 3ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (16, 3tr blocks)

Pattern Row - 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 31 rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Border - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr and 1ch space to 3ch to turn with, 3dc into top of the 3ch, work 61dc evenly along into row ends down first side of rug to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of next 61ch along cast on edge to corner, 3dc into corner, work 61dc evenly along into row ends up second side of rug to corner, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast colour, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc around rug to end, working 3dc into each corner, slip stitch to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row 8 more times. Fasten off.

Join in main colour, rpt last row twice. DNT.

Work 1 row of crab stitch (see abbrev) Fasten off.

Finishing - Weave in all loose ends and trim.
