Placemat - Using color 1, ch67, work (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in 7th ch from hook, skip 3ch, 1dc in next ch, * skip 3ch, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next ch, skip 3ch, 1dc in next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (8 shells)

Next Row - ch3, * (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in ch1 space of next shell (see abbrev), 1dc in dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc in top of ch6. Turn.

Pattern Row - ch3, * (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in ch1 space of next shell (see abbrev), 1dc in dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc in top of ch3. Turn.
