TENSION - 1 pattern rpt and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Placemat - Using colour 1, make 67ch, work (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into 7th ch from hook, miss 3ch, 1tr into next ch, * miss 3ch, (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into next ch, miss 3ch, 1tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (8 shells)

Next Row - 3ch, * (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into 1ch space of next shell (see abbrev), 1tr into tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 6ch. Turn.

Pattern Row - 3ch, * (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into 1ch space of next shell (see abbrev), 1tr into tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until you have 9 rows worked. Fasten off.

Join in colour 2 and work Pattern Row once. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 3 and rpt Pattern Row 9 times. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2 and work Pattern Row once. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 1 and rpt Pattern Row 9 times. Fasten off. Turn.

Next Row - 6ch, 1dc into 1ch space on next shell, * make 3ch, 1tr into next tr, make 3ch, 1dc into 1ch space on next shell * rpt from * to * to end, make 3ch, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Fasten off. Turn.

Border - Join in colour 2 with a ss to first tr, work 2 ss into each 3ch space and 1 slip stitch into each dc and tr along to corner, ss into corner, 2 ss into each row end down first side of mat to next corner, ss into corner, work 2 ss into each 3ch space and 1 slip stitch into each shell and tr to corner, ss into corner, 2 ss into each row end up second side of mat to next corner, ss to ss on corner. Turn.

Next Row - Make 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each ss around all four sides of mat, working 3dc into each of the 3 corners to end, 1dc into last corner, ss to first dc. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, work 2dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc around four sides of mat, working 3dc into each of the 3 corners, 1dc into last corner, ss to first dc. Turn. Fasten off.

Rpt last row twice in colour 3. Fasten off.

Coaster - With colour 1, make 27ch, work (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into 7th ch from hook, miss 3ch, 1tr into next ch, * miss 3ch, (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into next ch, miss 3ch, 1tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * once. Turn. (3 shells)
