Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Finished size approx: 70 Inches x 4.5 Inches (not including tassels)  

Materials
126 grams of Stylecraft special DK yarn in Shrimp (1132)

OR
4.5oz of worsted Weight #3 Yarn
6.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE - 5dc and 3 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 5.00mm hook

With 6.00mm hook ch21, change to 5.00mm hook, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, skip 1ch, * (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in next ch, skip 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch, skip 2ch (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in next ch, skip 1ch, 1sc in last ch. Turn. (6, ch2 spaces)

Row 2 - ch3, 3dc in each ch2 space to end, 1dc in last sc. (6, 3dc groups, 1dc + ch3)

Row 3 - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 1dc, * (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and ch3, skip 2dc, (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in next dc, skip 1dc, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.

Row 4 - ch3, 3dc in each ch2 space to end, 1dc in last sc.

Rpt Rows 3 & 4 until 85, 3dc group rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Edging - ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to ch3 to turn with, 3sc in top of ch3, starting with first side of scarf, work 2sc in Row 2 ends and 1sc in Row 3 ends to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along cast on edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, work 2sc in Row 2 ends and 1sc in Row 3 ends up second side of scarf to last corner, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Tassels x 16 (optional) - For each tassel cut 4 strands of yarn approx 4 inches long, (or required length), fold in half, thread open ends through sc, pull through loop you have created and secure. Edge both ends of scarf with 8 tassels each, approx 1 in every 3rd sc, trim to make even.
