Base of ch. Work into first stitch


3ch counts as first tr


Finished size approx: 70 Inches x 4.5 Inches (not including tassels)  


Materials

126 grams of Stylecraft special DK yarn in Shrimp (1132)

6.00mm & 5.00mm crochet hooks


TENSION - 5tr and 3 rows measure approx 1 Inch using 5.00mm hook

With 6.00mm hook make 21ch, change to 5.00mm hook, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, miss 1ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ch, miss 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch, miss 2ch (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ch, miss 1ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (6, 2ch spaces)


Row 2 - 3ch, 3tr into each 2ch space to end, 1tr into last dc. (6, 3tr groups, 1tr + 3ch)


Row 3 - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 1tr, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr and 3ch, miss 2tr, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next tr, miss 1tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.


Row 4 - 3ch, 3tr into each 2ch space to end, 1tr into last dc.


Rpt Rows 3 & 4 until 85, 3tr group rows have been worked in all. Turn.


Edging - 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to 3ch to turn with, 3dc into top of 3ch, starting with first side of scarf, work 2dc into Row 2 ends and 1dc into Row 3 ends to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along cast on edge to next corner, 3dc into corner, work 2dc into Row 2 ends and 1dc into Row 3 ends up second side of scarf to last corner, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.


Tassels x 16 (optional) - For each tassel cut 4 strands of yarn approx 4 inches long, (or required length), fold in half, thread open ends through dc, pull through loop you have created and secure. Edge both ends of scarf with 8 tassels each, approx 1 in every 3rd dc, trim to make even.
