dc3tog.
Leaving last loop of each dc
on hook, work 3dc in next stitch, yo draw through all 4 loops.

dc2tog.
Leaving last loop of each dc on
hook, work 2dc in next stitch, yo draw through all 3 loops.

Base of ch.       Work in first stitch     ~~~~~~~~~~     ch3 counts as first dc

Stitch Pattern.  Multiples of 2            ~~~~~~~~~~     ch2 counts as first hdc

50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Main Colour
50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in 2 Contrast Colours

OR
1.75oz of Worsted Weight Yarn in Main Color
1.75oz of Worsted Weight Yarn in 2 Contrast Colors
5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

GAUGE – 2 dc3tog and 3 rows of pattern measure approx 1 inch square

Tea Cosy - With 5.00mm hook and main color yarn ch29, change to 4.00mm hook,
(WS) 1hdc in 3rd ch from hook, * skip 1ch, (1hdc, ch1, 1hdc) in next ch, * rpt from
* to * to last ch2, skip 1ch, 2hdc in last ch. Turn. (12, hdc-vst)

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, ch1, * skip 2hdc, dc3tog in next ch1 space, ch1,
* rpt from * to * to end, dc2tog in top of ch2. Turn. (12, dc3tog)

Next Row - ch2, * (1hdc, ch1, 1hdc) in next ch1 space, skip dc3tog, * rpt from * to * to
last dc and ch3, skip last dc, 1hdc in top of ch3. Turn. (13, hdc-vst)

Next Row - ch3, skip 1hdc, dc3tog in next ch1 space, ch1, * skip 2hdc, dc3tog in next
ch1 space, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last hdc-vst and ch2 to turn, skip 2hdc, dc3tog in next
ch1 space, 1dc in top of ch2. Turn. (13, dc3tog) Fasten off.

Pattern Row 1 - Join in contrast color 1, ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, * skip dc3tog,
(1hdc, ch1, 1hdc) in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last dc3tog and ch3 to turn, skip dc3tog, 2hdc in top of ch3. Turn. (12, hdc-vst)

Pattern Row 2 - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, ch1, * skip 2hdc, dc3tog in next ch1 space,
ch1, * rpt from * to * to end, skip 2hdc, dc2tog in top of ch2. Turn. (12, dc3tog)

Pattern Row 3 - ch2, * (1hdc, ch1, 1hdc) in next ch1 space, skip dc3tog, * rpt from
* to * to last dc and ch3, skip last dc, 1hdc in top of ch3. Turn. (13, hdc-vst)

Pattern Row 4 - ch3, skip 1hdc, dc3tog in next ch1 space, ch1, * skip 2hdc, dc3tog in
next ch1 space, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last hdc-vst and ch2, skip 2hdc, dc3tog in next ch1 space, skip 1hdc, 1dc in top of ch2. Turn. (13, dc3tog) Fasten off.

The last 4 rows form the pattern, rpt rows in color sequence as follows:-

Once in Main color Yarn
Once in Contrast color 2 color.
Once in Main color Yarn. Turn.

Space for spout - Continue in main color, ch2, 1hdc in base of ch2, * skip dc3tog,
(1hdc, ch1, 1hdc) in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * three more times, ch10 loosely,
skip 5, ch1 spaces, rpt from * to * to last dc3tog and ch3 to turn, skip dc3tog, 2hdc in
top of ch3. Turn. (7, hdc-vst and 10ch)

Next Row - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, ch1, * skip 2hdc, dc3tog in next ch1 space, ch1,
* rpt from * to * to twice more, # skip ch1, dc3tog in next ch, ch1, # rpt from # to # four more times, skip ch1, dc3tog in next ch1 space, ch1, rpt from * to * to end, skip 2hdc, dc2tog
in top of ch2. Turn. (12, dc3tog)

Repeat Pattern Rows 3-4. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1-4 in color sequence as follows:-

Once in Contrast color 1
Once in Main color
Once in Contrast color 2
Once in Main color

Space for Handle
Because every Tea Pot handle and size are different I have given general instructions.
With WS facing and working from top down to handle, sl st your first row (cast on edge)
to your last row (pattern row 4) together (makes a round) fasten off, miss enough stitches
at centre for handle, sl st remainder of your first and last row together. Fasten off. (see pic)










Tea Cosy Edging - Using 5.00mm hook, WS facing and main color yarn, starting from handle seam, ch1, work 60sc evenly in row ends around to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.
Starting with ch1, work one more row in sc, slip stitching and turning at the end of row.

Eyelet Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 3sc, * rpt from * to* to last sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Next Row - ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Starting with ch1, sl st and turning at the end of each row, work two more rows in sc.
Fasten off.

With WS facing work 60sc evenly in row ends on opposite side of cosy. Turn. Work one more row in sc, sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Sew in and tie off ends, turn through to RS.

Flower - With 4.00mm hook contrast color 1, ch4, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1, work 8sc in ring, sl st to first sc. Turn. (8sc) Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in main color yarn, ch1, work 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. (16sc) Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast color 2, * work ch3, sl st in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end,
sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Make one more flower starting with contrast color 2, followed by main color and then
contrast color 1.

Chain Tie - Using 4.00mm hook and main color, ch100. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through eyelet rows
at the top of cosy, gather and tie in a bow, attach one flower to each end of chain tie to correspond with opposite color strip on cosy. (see main pic)
