tr3tog.
Leaving last loop of each tr on hook,
work 3tr into next stitch, yrh draw through all 4 loops.

tr2tog.
Leaving last loop of each tr on hook,
work 2tr into next stitch, yrh draw through all 3 loops.

Base of ch.   Work into first stitch     ~~~~~~~~~~     3ch counts as first tr

Stitch Pattern.  Multiples of 2           ~~~~~~~~~~     2ch counts as first htr

50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in Main Colour
50 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in 2 Contrast Colours
5.00mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION – 2 tr3tog and 3 rows of pattern measure approx 1 inch square

Tea Cosy - With 5.00mm hook and main colour yarn make 29ch, change to 4.00mm
hook, (WS) 1htr into 3rd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, (1htr, 1ch, 1htr) into next ch, * rpt from
* to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 2htr into last ch. Turn. (12, htr-vst)

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, make 1ch, * miss 2htr, tr3tog into next 1ch space, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, tr2tog into top of 2ch. Turn. (12, tr3tog)

Next Row - 2ch, * (1htr, 1ch, 1htr) into next 1ch space, miss tr3tog, * rpt from * to * to last
tr and 3ch, miss last tr, 1htr into top of 3ch. Turn. (13, htr-vst)

Next Row - 3ch, miss 1htr, tr3tog into next 1ch space, 1ch, * miss 2htr, tr3tog into next
1ch space, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last htr-vst and 2ch to turn, miss 2htr, tr3tog into
next 1ch space, 1tr into top of 2ch. Turn. (13, tr3tog) Fasten off.

Pattern Row 1 - Join in contrast colour 1, make 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, * miss tr3tog, (1htr, 1ch, 1htr) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last tr3tog and 3ch to turn, miss
tr3tog, 2htr into top of 3ch. Turn. (12, htr-vst)

Pattern Row 2 - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, make 1ch, * miss 2htr, tr3tog into next 1ch

Pattern Row 3 - 2ch, * (1htr, 1ch, 1htr) into next 1ch space, miss tr3tog, * rpt from
* to * to last tr and 3ch, miss last tr, 1htr into top of 3ch. Turn. (13, htr-vst)

Pattern Row 4 - 3ch, miss 1htr, tr3tog into next 1ch space, 1ch, * miss 2htr, tr3tog into
next 1ch space, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last htr-vst and 2ch, miss 2htr, tr3tog into
next 1ch space, miss 1htr, 1tr into top of 2ch. Turn. (13, tr3tog) Fasten off.

The last 4 rows form the pattern, rpt rows in colour sequence as follows:-

Once in Main colour Yarn
Once in Contrast colour 2 colour.
Once in Main colour Yarn. Turn.

Space for spout - Continue in main colour, make 2ch, 1htr into base of 2ch, * miss
tr3tog, (1htr, 1ch, 1htr) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * three more times, make 10ch loosely, miss 5, 1ch spaces, rpt from * to * to last tr3tog and 3ch to turn, miss tr3tog, 2htr
into top of 3ch. Turn. (7, htr-vst and 10ch)

Next Row - 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, make 1ch, * miss 2htr, tr3tog into next 1ch space, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to twice more, # miss 1ch, tr3tog into next ch, make 1ch, # rpt from # to # four more times, miss 1ch, tr3tog into next 1ch space, make 1ch, rpt from
* to * to end, miss 2htr, tr2tog into top of 2ch. Turn. (12, tr3tog)

Repeat Pattern Rows 3-4. Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1-4 in colour sequence as follows:-

Once in Contrast colour 1
Once in Main colour
Once in Contrast colour 2
Once in Main colour

Space for Handle
Because every Tea Pot handle and size are different I have given general instructions.
With WS facing and working from top down to handle, ss your first row (cast on edge) to
your last row (pattern row 4) together (makes a round) fasten off, miss enough stitches at centre for handle, ss remainder of your first and last row together. Fasten off. (see pic below)










Tea Cosy Edging - Using 5.00mm hook, WS facing and main colour yarn, starting from handle seam, make 1ch, work 60dc evenly into row ends around to end, ss to first dc.
Turn. Starting with 1ch, work one more row in dc, slip stitching and turning at the end of row.

Eyelet Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each
of next 3dc, * rpt from * to* to last dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc. Turn.

Next Row - 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end, ss to first
dc. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, ss and turning at the end of each row, work two more rows in dc.
Fasten off.

With WS facing work 60dc evenly into row ends on opposite side of cosy. Turn. Work
one more row in dc, ss to first dc. Fasten off. Sew in and tie off ends, turn through to RS.

Flower - With 4.00mm hook contrast colour 1, make 4ch, ss to first ch to form a ring,
make 1ch, work 8dc into ring, ss to first dc. Turn. (8dc) Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in main colour yarn, make 1ch, work 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first
dc. (16dc) Fasten off.

Next Row - Join in contrast colour 2, * work 3ch, ss into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end,
ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Make one more flower starting with contrast colour 2, followed by main colour and then contrast colour 1.

Chain Tie - Using 4.00mm hook and main colour, make 100ch. Fasten off.

Finishing - Sew in and tie off all loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through eyelet rows
at the top of cosy, gather and tie in a bow, attach one flower to each end of chain tie to correspond with opposite colour strip on cosy. (see main pic)
